DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a successful and growing SEC company that provides senior and mezzanine loans to companies in a variety of industries. The company is one of the most sophisticated and customer-focused lenders to middle market companies.

Due to continued growth of the company, they have created a new Underwriting Officer position. The Underwriting Officer will independently evaluate new, large, complex transactions to determine the viability of the credit and will make appropriate funding recommendations based on the company's lending criteria.

Responsibilities will include:

1. Underwrite new business transactions.

a.Conduct an initial meeting with the investment officer to gain a clear understanding of the transaction structure, terms and conditions per the term sheet and as further described in the initial client memo. Gain an understanding of any proposed collateral (when applicable) to secure the company's loan. Coordinate and discuss with the Chief Credit Officer any additional resources required as well as the scope of the diligence.

b.Perform an on-site visit with the prospective borrower and conduct interviews with management, analyze historical and projected financial data and cash flows, analyze/verify the reasonableness of the client’s business plan, coordinate with the loan analyst (where applicable) the completion of the field audit, (i.e. timing and scope).

4.Assist in performing customer and vendor references.

5.Review the proposed covenants

6.Prepare an underwriting report in conjunction with the loan analyst.

7.Participate in credit committee meetings.

8.Assist in syndicating larger credits.

REQUIREMENTS:

·BS/BA degree, preferably in accounting. CPA preferred.
·5-10 years of relevant work experience in some or all of the following areas: auditing, due diligence and/or commercial lending/banking environments.
·Strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word a must
·Effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required. Must be able to work effectively with senior management and various levels of personnel at customer companies.

Our client offers a competitive compensation package (base salary plus bonus potential of up to 25%) and a strong benefits package.

SALARY: $75,000-$85,000 + Bonus
