Project Manager - Business Process Redesign :

DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a rapidly growing registered investment advisor and is seeking a talented professional with 6-8 years of project management and accounting/finance experience to assist in the analysis, redesign and implementation of functional workflow improvements relating to all critical back-office functions, including the implementation of IT systems and automated solutions.

The candidate must have demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the investment management and/or securities brokerage industry, including the operational, regulatory (i.e. SEC regulations) and compliance aspects of investment advisers. Must possess a strong knowledge of the back office functions of an investment adviser and/or broker-dealer, including knowledge of securities processing and cashiering controls and procedures. A working knowledge of P&C/life insurance industry operations a strong plus.

Proven project management experience a must. This individual will work as part of a small project team, and will manage aspects of the on-going business process re-engineering project. The candidate must be an agent of change, who will be responsible for ensuring that critical project deliverables and needs are met, while leading/mentoring team members, proactively assessing and communicating project status and rebalancing team assignments. Will manage via proactive anticipation rather than via a reactive crisis management mentality. Must demonstrate good business judgment and act in a business analyst role to effectively gain information, formulate recommendations and implement workflow improvements. Will work closely with personnel across all functions of the firm and affiliated entities, and will manage vendor relations relating to the project.

REQUIREMENTS:

ˇBS/BA degree in finance or accounting. MBA a strong plus.
ˇMinimum of six years of relevant work experience in the investment management or securities brokerage industries. Preference for two or more years in management consulting or a management development program at a financial services company. Targeted experience in internal controls reviews (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley reviews) in the financial services industry is particularly relevant.
ˇStrong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word a must; MS Project, MS Access, VBA/macros a strong plus. Exposure to Bloomberg and investment accounting applications also a strong plus.
ˇStrong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, and communicate clearly, effectively and concisely.
ˇStrong relationship management skills required. Must be able to work effectively with senior management, and desire to work in dynamic, entrepreneurial culture.
ˇHigh level of motivation and initiative is required.

SALARY: $70,000-$90,000 + 50% Bonus Potential
