Manager of Technical Accounting :

DESCRIPTION: A challenging career opportunity exists for someone to join the Corporate Finance team. This new position has been established in response to the increasingly complex regulatory environment arising under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and new complex accounting rules. As Manager, Technical Accounting, you will support the Corporate Office Finance team as well as the Group and operations organizations. Responsibilities include financial accounting and reporting, with emphasis on technical accounting research and implementation. This role can provide an understanding of our overall business and help with future career progress.

Core Responsibilities:
?Staying current with accounting and industry developments ? (FASB, SEC, AICPA).
?Assisting in the implementation of new accounting rules (e.g. FAS146, FAS 148, FIN 45), including the development of capabilities/processes to meet quarterly reporting requirements.
?Assisting in financial integration of acquisitions ? including purchase price accounting (FAS141).
?Managing annual goodwill impairment test (FAS142); develop capabilities/processes for determining fair values for reporting units.
?Researching and interpreting accounting standards (FASB); advise on complex accounting treatments for various business transactions.
?Utilizing the COSO framework of internal controls to assist is improving controllership and documenting compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Rule 404.
?Assist in the development and maintenance of corporate wide accounting policies and procedures. Responsible for overall maintenance of Corporate Accounting Policy Manual.
?Coordinate in-house technical training for finance staff (CPE program).
?Assisting in the monthly corporate close and reporting process.
?Assisting with preparation and review of financial reports and SEC filings on form 10-K and 10-Q. Responsible for certain disclosures in the annual report, completion of the Financial Statement Disclosure Checklist and interaction with external auditors.


REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA designation (MBA a plus); 5+ years of demonstrated success within a public accounting firm, including audit or related experience; strong technical accounting skills; emphasis in manufacturing and/or distribution and SEC experience preferred; a high degree of integrity and ethical behavior; ability to work independently and within a team; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface with the worldwide financial team.
