Systems Administrator (to be promoted to IT Manager) :

DESCRIPTION: Our client, a solid high-tech manufacturer, is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will report directly to the IT Manager, during transition, and will be instrumental in shaping and supporting the company's IT needs. Responsibilities include: Perform daily support activities involving systems development and application operations maintenance; provide departmental hardware and software support; determine and maintain data backup systems and recovery procedures; define and purchase software products, control licensing agreements, and provide appropriate hardware to operate; provide internal training in the use and operation of all company software and provide written procedures and instructions to employees; insure a 24/7 operation and manning for company systems, telecommunications and internet based activities; provide support for internal networks, hubs, routers, and E-mail systems.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in computer science or business systems (MS/MBA preferred); experience in a manufacturing environment; minimum of 5 years experience in corporate MIS or IT department; systems knowledge of Vizability; Oracle and Novell; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization; excellent verbal and written skills; can work independently as well as lead a team; be a self-starter with an enthusiastic attitude to help drive business needs.
